I stand corrected. Setlists.net has the following list:

Top 8 Most Played Songs

Playin' In The Band 687
Not Fade Away 647
The Other One 624
Me And My Uncle 606
Sugar Magnolia 589
I Know You Rider 545
China Cat Sunflower 545
Truckin' 519

But further checking in the same database reveals that the top five were played in the following number of shows:

playing in the band 584
not fade away 530
the other one 586
me and my uncle 605
sugar magnolia 589

Huh? I'm thinking the first list counts every instance of the song, so that for example NFA > Going Down the Road > NFA counts twice for NFA. Going by number of shows (which I think we should), Me and My Uncle does indeed win.

BTW, the above numbers compare with these from deadbase:

playing in the band 602
not fade away 532
the other one 587
me and my uncle 616
sugar magnolia 594

Odd: I got this from DeadBase:

'810 shows matched your query."

This is the number that is noted in the Deadbase that came out in 1995. I recall being curious enough to check all the songs against times played.

Mind you, I don't give a shit. To me, the point is that they played it about 700 times too many!

810 for "uncle", which also brings up shows containing Uncle John's Band.
616 for "me & my uncle"
